AVONDALE MATTERS.
MEETING OF COUNCIL.
The Avondale Borough Council met on Wednesday evening, the Mayor, Mr. W. J. 'fait, presiding. There were also present Messrs. A. E. Blackmail, G. Malcolm, E. Croft, C, D. Jones, P. Turner, A. Lord, 11. Potter, J. B. Clarke, and T. Wilson. A deputation of Old Windsor Road ratepayers asked when work would be proceeded with on that road. The Mayor admitted that delay had occurred, but as the drainage scheme now being carried out would necessitate cutting up the footpath it would be unwise to start the work until that work was finished. He expected tho drainage to be completed by March next. It was decided to request the Lands Department to issue a plan of Block 76 at their own expense, as the department had issued transfers and registered- sections on that block before the roads .wore dedicated. . It. was resolved that electric motors bo installed at the quarry as soon as current is available. It was agreed to purchase a tractor and trailers, and a mowing machine. It was resolved to interview the chairman of the Harbour Board and. suggest remedies to minimise the erosion of the foreshore at Blockhouse Bay.
