AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE.

The tone of the Auckland shareniarket was unaltered yesterday, being fairly good demand for investment stocks. In Government securities War Loan, 1938, changed hands at £97 17s 6d, late buyers offering £97, sellers £97 12s 6d. There was inquiry for War Loan, 1939, at £97, and for Inscribed Stock, 1938 and .1939, at the same figure, holders not quoting. Soldiers' bonds were quoted at £IGI and Soldiers' Inscribed Stock at £100 15s. In banks National of New Zealand again sold at £6 lbs, with further inquiry at £6 15s, sellers £6 17s. Buyers of New Zealands offered 59s 6d, sellers again quoting 60s 3d. Australasias had buyers at £13 8s 6d, sellers reducing their quotation by Is to £13 lis. Union of Australia were again sought at £14 without response. In coal Taupiiis had buyers at 17s, sellers 17s 6d. Waipas were inquired for at 19s. In gas Aucklands, which sold on the previous day at 24s 3d. again had inquiry at that figure, sellers 24s 9d. In shipping Devonport. Steam Ferry were quoted at. 265. Huddart-Parkcrs again had buyers at 43s 6d, sellers 44 s 3d; Northern Steam.Tiip, buyers 15s 9d, sellers lbs CT; P. and O. Deferred (e\ dividend) wero quoted at £306. In miscellaneous stocks there was a sale of Kcmpthorne, Prosser's rights at 5s 3d. with further inquiry at ss. Milne and Chovce debenture stock had sale at 22s 6d, further buyers offering 22s 3d, sellers 22s 9d. In mining Waihis again had buyers at 25s 9« 1. sellers 26s 3d ; Waihi Grand Junctions, buyers Is 9d, sellers 2s 2d. Kawaraus wero quoted at 20s. Moanataiaris wero unchanged with buyers Is 9d. sellers 2s 4d. The following sales took place:—New Zealand War Loan, 1938, £97 7s 6d; National Bank of New Zealand, £6 16s; Kempthorne, Prosser's rights, 5s 3d; Milne and Clioyco debenture stock, 22s 6d.
