CROSSING COLLISION.
ENGINE STRTKES A LORRY.
SERIOUS DAMAGE AVERTED.
OCCUPANT THROWN CLEAR.

HAMILTON. Wednesday.
A. collision, fortunately unattended by any serious damage, occurred at the level crossing on Commerce Street, Frankton Junction, last evening, when the Morrinsville train ran into a Hamilton Borough Council mctor-lorry which stopped on the line directly in front of it. Tho (rain fortunately was travelling slowly at the time, and the engine driver applied his brakes promptly. The driver of the lorry, W. A. Shoebridge, was thrown clear of the vehiclo, which was carried on to tho cattlo stops, but sustained littlo damage.
