LOAN PROPOSALS DEFEATED.
[by telegraph.— press association*.] WANGANUI. Friday. Tht Wanganui ratepayers to-day defeated by a two-to-ono majority proposals to raise loans as follows:—Land for parks and playgrounds, £17,000; improvements to parks and playgrounds, £6000; drainage, £5000; overhead bridge at railway crossing, St. John's, £4000.
