BLENHEIM BANKRUPTCY.
DECISION FOR DEFENDANT.
[BY TELEQRATH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] BLENHEIM. Friday. Finality was reached at tho Supreme Court this morning, after a very protracted hearing, in the retria' of tho case in which tho New Zealand Farmers' Cooperative Association of Canterbury, Limited, claimed from Henry Leslie Churchward, of Wellington, the sum of £321 5s Bd, for goods sold and delivered to the now bankrupt firm of R. I. Reid and Co., in which Mr. Churchward was alleged by tho plaintiff company to have been a partner. Mr. T. F. Rolling appeared for the plaintiff company, and Mr. G. G. G. Watson, of Wellington, for tho defendant.
Tho jury, having returned a verdict in defendant's favour, judgment was entered accordingly, with costs according to scale on both trials.
Mr. Rolling formally asked H ; s Honor to reserve leave to sot aside the judgment on tho grounds that the verdict was against tho weight of the evidence, After some discussion His Honor granted counsel leave until December 24 to movo for a new trial, or any other relief.
