PAN-PACIFIC CONFERENCE.
NEXT MEETING IN 1928.
POSSIBLE AUCKLAND FIXTURE.
Tho council of the Auckland Institute and Museum met yesterday, the prosident, Sir James Gunson, presiding. Arrangements were made to officially welcome the party of Samoan Faipules when they visit tho museum on December 31.
In connection with the Pan-Pacific Conference in 1928, which it is desired should be held in Auckland, tho secretary reported that he had communicated with the New Zealand Institute asking its sanction before approaching the City Council on the matter, and had received a reply to the effect that the standing committee did not feel competent to deal with tho question, but would bring it before the annual meeting. The president said he did not think it would ha\c been proper to approach the City Council without tho sanction of the parent body. The local museum council must act constitutionally. It would bo a great thing to have the conference here in 1928. Tiie action of the secreta'-y was approved.
