THE AKARANA OLUB.
Membera of the Akarana Rifle Club competed at Penrose on Saturday afternoon for trsvphies presented by Mr. F. A. Combes (A seotion), the president (B section), and Mr. A. Wallace (O section). Ten shots were fired at 800 and 900 yards. A. E, Hughes, E. G. White and G. D. Moon registered wirs and take silver spoons. The details are:—

The top score of the day was made by Cadet G. Haskell, 118. Dr. Mao Knight being next With 103. . T fe, e «*«*•***« for the two shoots resulted in T. Floyd winning the trophy with 207. Other scores were R. Benjamin 205. E. J Smallfield 199 and G. Haskell 196.
CITY AND SUBURBS CLUB. The third sHoot of the first championship series for trophies presented by Mr. F. Clark was fired by members of the City and Suburbs Club at Penrose on Saturday. Ten shots werefired at each of 800 yds and 900 yds ranges. The conditions throughout were favourable, but as this was the first visit to the longer ranges and also the fijat dry day of the season, many competitors were hampered in gauging the correot elevation and windage The competition in A grade was won by H. J. Verrall with 45 at each ?£& ln B «^ ade R - H - Perkins with 44 at 800yda and 34 tit the longer range. Detailed results are:— A Grade.—H. J. Verrall. 45 at 800 yds. 45 at 900yds—total 90; W. B.
