KING COUNTRY STOCK REPORT.
Dalgety and Company, Limited, Te Kuiti, report as follows on stock sales last week at Taumarunui, Otorohanga and Matiere:—At Taumarunui we had a iair yarding of both sheep and cattle and have to report a good clearanoe at late rates. Quotations: Shorn fat ewes. 29s 6d; fat. woolly hoggew. 86s 6d; medium m.s. hoggets, 82s 6d; small hoggets, 225; 3-year steers, £& 7s; 2year steers, small, £3 4s; better sorts to £3 15s; yearling steers. £3 7s 6d, £3 9s to £3 12s Cd: store cows, £2, £2 10s to £2 16s; forward cows, £3 6s; dairy cows, good Borts £6. £8 10s to £10; rough quality, £2 5s to £4. At Otorohanga we bad a fair yarding of sheep and full yarding of cattle. Quotations: Shorn fat wethers to 85s; woolly hoggets, small. 27s 6d: shorn m.s. Southdown. 2-tooth, 255; 2-toqth ewes, shorn, to 295; fat cows, light. £3 16s to £4 6s; yearling steers, small. £1 10s, £1 12s -6d to £2 ss; others to £2 10s: 2-year heifers, £2 2s: good yearling Jersey heifers, £|; rough sorts, 85s to £2 10s; yearling Hereford heifers, small, £1 10s to £1 11a; dairy cows, rough sorts, £8 to £4. At Matiere we had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle all of. which met with a ready demand, and. with the exception of one lino of steers and a few rough dairy heifers, everything ohanged hands. Abraham and Williams, Limited report:— At Taumarunui on Tuesday our yarding comprised 1037 sheep, 403 head of cattle and 75 pigs. At Owhango on Tuesday stock came forward well up to advertised numbers and a good clearance was made at prices equal to those ruling at other centres.
