THE MURRAY CENTENARY,

On November 17, 100 years ago, Messrs, Hume and Hovell were the first white men to set eyes on the River Murray at a spot close to Albury. To celebrate the centenary of the discovery of the Murray thers will be extensive rejoicing at Albury from November 16 to 22 next, when all old residents are invited to go back to the homo town. The celebration will be on a lavish scale, one of the most prominent features being the conversion of Dean Street to an open-air bazaar under the wide-spreading elms, all vehicular traffic being diverted. There will also be race meetings, band contests, and sporting tournaments. Former residents who would like to take part in the festivities are asked to communicate with Mr. A. Waugh, chairman of the Centenary Celebrations Committee, who will furnish all particulars. >
