THE KELVIN INQUIRY.
Sir,— have had at' last the results. ?£ IS . mquiry/ but satisfaction has not' been given on one point, viz., under what, circumstances is puerperal fever most' prevalent—in our own homes with a certificated nurse and doctor or in private or public hospitals? One of the new laws' is that for every four patients, there must be a certificated nurse, which means, put up the charges on the parent*. St. Helens hospitals are not available to thousands of mothers in • country districts, nor are private hospitals, and so the mothers remain in their own homes. May I inquire is puerperal fever more prevalent under these conditions ? This question should be settled by sin inquiry* A Country Mother.
