SENSATION IN CHURCH.
STEVEDORE BECOMES INSANE. STRUGGLE WITH ; POLICEMEN. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 8.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 11. A stevedore, who became violently in-" sane while i kneeling at -prayer, ; terrified 1000 children who had just received communion in a local Roman Catholic ( Church. The i combined efforts of ; two priests, eight adult parishioners and seven - policemen were necessary to subdue the man, who was removed to a hospital. \ 1 The stevedore had .sprung .to-his feet shrieking, and he ran down, the aisles of - the church causing a stampede. A policeman succeeded in handcuffing the s man, who, however, slipped the handcuffs apart and resumed the. fight against those who were attempting to quieten him. I More policemen arrived, f and someone brought a rope, with which the man was tied-and held until the ambulance arrived.
