NEW POISONOUS GAS:
USE FROM AEROPLANES. AGONISING DEATH AGENT. Australian and N.Z. Cable . Association. (Reed. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 12. Professor Cecil Deslisle Burns, of the London University, states that a deadly poisonous, gas has been discovered. It may be easily distributed from aeroplanes. . ' The gas is invisible and odourless, but anyone breathing it will die in terrible agony from six to twelve ' hours later. The res sinks into the ground and will haunt ; basements and subways for days. The professor says that the gas can now be produced in large quantities. Gas masks are the only effective protection,' Two tons of the gas can be carried ,in one aeroplane, and it will spread death to ■ every living being within a quartermile radius of the spot whence it is discharged. ■ , . ,
