FALSE REPRESENTATIONS. MAN ADMITS DISHONESTY. A series of charges involving false pretences was made in the Police Court yesterday before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., against Samuel John Carncross, aged 31 (Mr. Sullivan). He was charged that on four occasions, , with intent to defraud, he obtained motor tyres and tubes by representing he ' was a carrier with a . business at Otahuhu, and that his name was A. Prosser. In this manner he was alleged to have . obtained nine tyres and three tubes, of a total value of £66 3s, the property of the Distributing Agency, Ltd. Accused pleaded guilty to all the charges. The evidence showed that a full confession had been made. Accused had said he was running passengers from Auckland to Hamilton on account of the ' railway strike.
