HEART BEATS HEARD. PITTSBURG TO ENGLAND. A. and N.Z.. LONDON. April 7. Enthusiasts in England listening in to an American broadcasting programme early on Sunday morning constantly heard a puzzling clicking. They afterwards learned that they had been listening to the beating of a man's heart broadcasted from Pittsburg. CHICAGO TO AUSTRALIA. SPEECHES DISTINGUISHED. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, April 8. In connection with the American broadcasting test on March 30, Mr. Kempey, a listener-in, reports that he picked up portions of speeches, including the words, " British Empire in the Pacific," " Mr. Massey of New Zealand,!' and " We are getting on better and better." He also heard mention of a test across the Pacific and the linking up with New Zealand. The speech was clear excepting from station CS.
