Information is to hand that "it is the intention of the Maori leader Ratana, accompanied' by a party of 35 other natives, to leave for England to visit the British Empire Exhibition. Ratana proposes to sail from " Wellington on April 11 for Sydney, en route for England. "it is understood that there is opposition in some native quarters to Ratana's proposed visit, and to contributions from the North Inland natives being devoted to the purpose. Mr. Pita Moko, Ratana's secretary, was in Wellington last week making the arrangements for the trip. The Minister for. Native Affairs is considering the matter. The Maoris, if permitted to go, will require to deposit with the Government sufficient money foi their return passages;
