"SALTED" OIL BORE.
ACCUSED SENTENCED. SIX MONTHS IN GAOL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.35 a.m.) , PERTH, Mar. 19. In connection with the Lake Eva oil " salting " case, the accused, H. Thompson, was found guilty, with a strong recommendation to mercy. The Judge, in ' sentencing Thompson to six months' imprisonment with hard labour, said, he thought accused had been the tool of a very much greater criminal, Robert Gothkell, who is still at large.
