ENGLISH WORDS ADOPTED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 6.5 p.m.) PARIS, Feb. 23. The French Academy has decided to recognise in a new edition of a dictionary a number of additional foreign words, mostly English sporting terms, for which there is no French equivalent. These include football, athlete, and alpenstock. The words avant and arriere may be used as nouns to correspond with the English football terms forward and., back.
