PENSIONS AT AGE OF 70. NO INCOME RESTRICTION. FORTY-EIGHT-HOUR WEEK. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. Sun. LONDON. Feb. 22. Mr. Arthur Henderson, Secretary of State for Home Affairs, in a speech at Burnley, disclosed that pensions for all over 70, years of age. irrespective of income, was one of the Government's immediate proposals. .In addition it would introduce the 48 instead of the 60 hour working week, with a maximum of nine hours a day. The Government had no intention of departing from its election pledges. Many other measures for improving factory conditions were in process of preparation.
