FIRE AT FRANKTON.
SMALL COTTAGE BURNED. [BT TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPOND SN ] HAMILTON. Saturday. A three-roomed cottage, owned and occupied by Mr. C. Johnson, of Rifle Range Road, Frankton, was totally deIroyed by fire at one o'clock this morning. Mr. Johnson lit a fire under the copper before retiring to bed, but he thought that this was out before he left it. The fire had a good hold when it was discovered, and the occupants of the house escaped in their night attire. The house was insured in the State Office for £400 and the furniture was insured in the Sun Office for £160. The Hamilton Fire Brigade was summoned and did all that was possible in the circumstances.
