Mrs. Oakley Maund, a wealthy widow living in a mansion flat in Victoria Street, returned to London last night from the Continent and found that expert cracksmen had stolen jewellery valued at £120,000. As soon as she reached the door of her flat she saw that the lock had been tampered with. A pane of glass had been: knocked out so that the lock could be* reached. The pane had been i-eplaced and the damage covered with soft #oap. Mrs. Maund rushed to her jewel safo and found it had been rifled. Necklaces, tiaras, and other jewels had gone.
