Sir Arthur Lawley, ex-Governor of Western Australia, presiding at a luncheon of the Child Emigration Society, at. which the Prince of Wales was present, detailed the objects and aspirations of the society, and outlined the work done in the past, as well as the developments hoped for in the future. . Tho Prince of Wales made an eloquent appeal for assistance for the society, which, he declared, was devoted to one of the best ideas for retrieving human waste. This was one of the most serious modern problems, and the society aimed at removing children from the worst to the best conditions.
