Firth, had the misfortune to have 20 acres of his best flax at Ahikiwi destroyed by fire on Monday. He also lost" the whole of bis tramway system. The loss is a particularly heavy one, as a portion of the swamp burned was a particularly good one, and was yielding some excellent green leaf.
