The Canterbury Jockey Club's Metropolitan Meeting was continued to-day in fine weather, but a half-gale wind from the east raised clouds of duet, and made cordit.'ons very unpleasant. The totalisator investments were £46,202 10s, compared with £55,515 on the third day last year. At the end of six furlongs Ballymena was leading Royal Star and Sunart (who were together) by three lengths, while three lengths further back came Palestrina and Rouen, with Vagabond and Scion two lengths in the rear. There was practically no change in the positions until about six furlongs from home, where Rouen retired, having broken down. Royal Star and Sunart closed on Ballymena at the entrance to the straight. but Ballymena easily held his own in the run home and won by a length from Sunart, who beat Royal Star by a length lor second honours. Limelight was in front at the distance, and though Printemps finished fast, Limelight beat him comfortably by half a length. Also started: Top Score. Razzle Dazzle took charge at the start, closely followed by Wild Hind, with Parody next, and Top Score last. They raced in this order till about half a milo from home, where Wild Hind moved up to Razzle Dazzle. There was not a great deal between the four as they turned into tho straight. Riizzle Dazzle and Parody then strode away, and Razzle Dazzle won by a length and a-half. Wild Hind was six lengths away, with Top Score last. Time, 2m 34a. -
