CINEMA IN SCHOOLS.
MOVEMENT IN WELLINGTON. [BY . TSLEGBAPH.—OWJT CCBKESPONDKNT. ] . WELLINGTON. Wednesday.' Visual instruction is strongly emphasised in modern education, and the use of the cinematograph in schools has been strongly recommended. . On that account, the Wellington Education Board to-day adopted recommendations in regard to a demonstration of various types of portable cinema machines. ' As the board is not provided with the means to inaugurate the plan of instruction by cinema, it resolved to request tho Director of Education to indicate the future policy of tho department regarding the' use of the instrument in school rooms, and that as the board would like as an experiment to try the plan .in actual school use, an inquiry be made whether the department would provide £50 sufficient to meet tho cost of a portable machine.
