ONE TREE HILL DISTRICT.

APPROVAL BY , COMMISSION.

PRESENT BOUNDARIES FAVOURED.

. A change in the constitution of the One Tree Hill, district to the status of . a borough, Without alteration ' of its existing boundaries, has been approved by the commission -recently appointed .to consider the matter.

Jn a repprt, from the commission, received by the One Tree Hill Road Board last evening, it was stated that members were satisfied that the portion of the area which opponents of the proposed change desired to be severed, and made into a separate road district, would - not benefit, by such severance. There was. a well, defined" area on the western side ' or the district which, from its topographical features and propinquity to the borough of Onehunga, would-be better included m that borough than in the One Tree Hill road district. Without the consent of the residents affected, however, and also of the Onehunga, Borough Council, no change should be made in that portion of the boundaries. The commission was of opinion that the present road district was suitable for a borough without alteration of its boundaries. The.date for a poll in connection with the change of constitution will be fixed by the Minister for Internal Affairs.
