The tone of the Auckland sharemarkot remained firm yesterday. In New Zea- ; land Government ; securities Soldiers' Loans bonds changed hands at £102, Late sellers £102 10s, buyers £101 15s. Inscribed Stock in the same loan had demand at £101 -Iss, no holders quoting. War Loans, 1930, 1938, and 1939 each, were sought at £96, with no response from holders. For the 1927 issue £98 was again offered, sellers £98 10s. New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1938, had sale at £96 10s. sellers closing at that figure, buyers £96. Other issues had sustained inquiry at late rates. In banks Nationals of New Zealand were looked for at £6 14s, sellers £6 16s. New Zealands at 63s were wanted at 62a 9d. Australasias at £13 16s were sought at £13 lis. There was inquiry for New South Wales at £40 7s 6d and P. and O.'s at £14 10s. Unions at £14 19s were wanted at £14 18s. In insurances Nationals changed hands at 81s 6d, and rnOre were sought at 81s 3d. sellers 82s. New Zealands at 32s were looked for at 31s 6d. South British had continued demand at 41a, but there were no sellers. Standards were offered at 395. In shipping Northerns were done at 7a 3d. In timber Kauris had sale at 28s 6d. Wilsons Cements were done at 27s 9d, more being required at that figure, Belters 28a. In other lines late rates were generally maintained. In mining Waihis changed hands at 25s 9d, late sellers 265, buyers 25s 9d. Grand Junctions at 7s were wanted at 6s sd. Muir's Gold Reefs were offered at 22s 6d, with no buyers. New Waiotahis at 8d were sought at 6d. There was' demand for Moanataiaris at 2s, holders 2s 9d.
