ANOTHER CONTRACT LET.
A striking feature of Auckland's present era of building activity is the large number of shops being erected in suburban districts. -In no district has this shopbuilding boom been more in evidence than in-the vicinity of the Royal Oak, on Manukau Road, -where over 20 shops have been opened during the last year, j In addition to those already : completed, a tender of £4000 has justbeen let for the erection of a brick and concrete block of five shops and .dwellings, for which Mr tTV pe £i Morton -is tho architect, and •Messrs. Thomas and Colnett the builders, •flans are also being prepared by the same architect for a large shop and office block, wttn dwelling accommodation,' to bo erected in Remuera Road, the cost of which will about £5000,
