PEACH DEFEATS SIMS.
THREE HOURS' STRUGGLE.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 10.30 p.m.) SYDNEY. March 21. The lawn tennis tournament was continued in fine weather to-day. Ollivier accounted for Peacock in the singles after an uneventful match, in which Peacock failed accurately to gauge the effect of a strong wind. Sims and Peach engaged in a stubborn contest for almost three hours. They were three games all in the fifth set, Sims, whose display fluctuated throughout, offered only a feeble resistance. in the concluding three games, Peach winning the set, 6—3. Peacock and Ollivier easily won their heat in the doubles. Following are the results: — Ollivier beat Peacock, 6—2, I—6, 6—4, 6—2. Siller beat Robson, 63. 60, 64. Peach beat Sims, 10—8, 6—B, 3—6, 9—7, 6-3. Peacock and Ollivier beat Gemmell and Pike, 6—4. 6—3, 6—2.
