EMISSARIES OF DE VALERA
DELEGATION IN AUSTRALIA.
A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. March 21. There is much press comment and proteat regarding the arrival at Melbourne of two members of the Irish Overseas Delegation, whose stated objective is to " enlighten Irish sympathisers in Australia on the Irish position, and give them a chance of hearing the other side." They propose to consult leaders of Irish opinion in Australia in De Valera's name, " to try to find a way to a lasting and honourable peace in Ireland." Strong exception is taken to the tone of a speech already delivered by one of the delegates. The Federal Government is being urged to curtail the activities of the delegates. Many Roman Catholics are among the protestors against the introduction of what they regard as disturbing factional propaganda.
