FINE PICTORIAL SECTION.
; An exceptionally wide range of topical subjects is illustrated in to-day's issue of the Auckland Weekl/T News, and the fine quality and diversity of the large pictorial section will make a strong appeal to all readers. The double page is devoted to magnificent panoramic views. One is a beautiful view of Dusky Sound, showing Pickers,gill Harbour and the historic Look-out Hill; tho other is a comprehensive pastoral view of a grain crop being harvested on a Marlborough station. Both are exceptionally fine pictures land depict beautiful scenery of widely different character. Full-size pictures fittingly illustrate Waikato's great annual aquatic carnival, the Ngoruawahia regatta, and. busy scenes on the Auckland wharves, showing primary products being shipped to the overseas markets. Scenes on the " All Red" route from England to New Zealand comprise some beautiful views of the Canadian Rockies and the Niagara Falls. The current events illustrated include New Zealand's artillery forces operating with 6in. Howitzers at Wallaceville; the King's Medal shooting competition at Trentham; Waikato Central Agricultural Show at Cambridge; opening of the first section of the Waikaremoana hydroelectric scheme; the record motor run from Wellington to Auckland; and the opening of the new primary school at Takanini. Two striking views of the American troops evacuating the occupied Rhine area in Germany and handing control over to the French mark an historical event of great importance. Other fine scenic and industrial views and portraits contribute to an exceptionally varied and interesting number.
