KINDNESS REWARDED.
THE AMERICAN SCIENTISTS.
advertising the dominion. Tby TELEGRAPH. correspondent.! WELLINGTON. Sunday.
The American scientists who recently toured New Zealand under the guidance of Professor Nutting are proving good advertisers of : New Zealand in their own countrv. Writing to a friend here Professor "Nutting, of lowa University, says: " The members of our party are delivering numerous lectures about our trip to Now Zealand, 'and as we took somethink like 1000 good negatives we are able to show a ' good series of slides. It is hoped in this way to repay in some measure the many kindnesses experienced m New Zealand and give a desirable publicity to your beautiful country. I took one of the tuatara lizards to Boston to exhibit at the ■ meeting of the - American Association for the Advancement of Science, and it attracted a- good deal of attention, as very few of the scientists there had ever seen _ a living member of this interesting species. I also gave an illustrated lecture on our trip, which was of interest to members."
