HEAVY LOSS INVOLVED.
A disastrous fire swept one side of Camming Street, Suva, on Saturday, and . demolished all the business premises m its path, according to a private cable received yesterday by the Hon. J. B. Turner, who is at present residing in Auckland, ine cable was necessarily brief, but it indicated the buildings which had been destroyed and stated that the municipal market, situated at one end of the street, had been saved. , ■. '; , .Camming Street, or All Nations Street as it is more generally known to vis tors to Fiji, is a narrow thoroughfare .in the business part of the town, and is _ the shopping centre for the Fijians and others of the coloured population. The street is approximately about 150 yds. long, but ,is lined on both sides with shops of allde scriptions kept mainly by Hindus ana Chinese.
