Conditions were again ideal for the final day of. the third cricket test, but the remainder of the New -Zealand batsmen did not toffar much resistance, and England won by an innings and 20 runs after an hour's play. : f "'-.'; When stumps were drawn on Saturday, New Zealand had five wickets* down for 178, Blunt . and Garrard being the unbeaten pair. The partnership did, not remain long after play was resumed. The batsmen were not at home to the bowling of Gibson and Freeman. Blunt added only three more to his score before he placed one into Freeman's hands in the slips off Gibson: &—lB2. McGirr joined Garrard, and there seemed to bo hope of « stand when the Auckland man fell to Gibson after adding seven to the score: 12—197. Brice was the next man, but lost McGirr without any further increase to the score, the latter sending one into Chapman's hands at cover 8—8—197. Mcßeath was the last man and Brice greeted his arrival by hitting Freeman for four, but, after 'the pair nad added 115, more by good luck than good mani agement, Brice was > caught by Wilson off Gibson, and the innings closed: 10—10 215. Scores:—
