The object j ! of 'the bazaar was to provide a piano fori: the hall, recently erected.' The Mayor of Opotiki, in opening the bazaar, said ' ' that Waiotahi now possessed a town hall, * - aiid the settlers were to be congratulated- ' on their enteprise. _ The labour in tho j! erection of the building had. been volun-j ' tary, and the principle adopted had been j' to obtain the necessary cash before pur- ; chasing any material. . : '
