PACIFIC BOARD'S POLICY. DUPLICATION ABANDONED. United Service. BONDON, Sept. 25. It is understood that the Pacific Cable Board, on the recommendation of its Australian representatives, overruled the decision of Mr. Milward, general manager, regarding the duplication of the Brisbane-Vancouver section, in view of the Commonwealth wireless agreement, the development of which is considered likely to prevent the duplication from becoming a commercial proposition. The board decided to proceed only so far as the laying of cables between Brisbane and Sydney and Auckland and Fiji.
