A by-election at South Hackney, to fill the vacancy caused by the expulsion of Horatio Bottomley, resulted:— Captain Erskine Bolst, Co. Un. .. 9118 Holford Knight, Labour .. . . 9046 Rejected ballot papers numbered 104, of which 90 intended for Mr. Knight bore the words, " Good luck," or references to Socialism.
