LONDON WOOL SALES.

SERIES CLOSES FIRMLY, MEDIUM CROSSBREDS CHEAPER. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Eecd. 2.8 p.m.) LONDON, June 28. The wool sales closed to-day. There was a good attendance throughout the series. American and Continental buyers were keen operators. 'The Home trade was more reserved, showing increased activity toward the close. An average selection of super Merino wools met with good dema-nd at full rates. Average Merinos were a little irregular, but there was no quotable change. Shabby and inferior Merinos showed a 5 per cent, decline. Scoured Merinos met with strong competition at full May rates There were very big offerings of crombreds and considerable weakness was noticeable in the first week, but. there was an improvement toward (he close. Fine sorts maintained May rates. Medium sorts showed a decline of 7£ to 10 per cent. Shabby and coarse gradeis declined 10 per cent. Scoured crossbreds were in strong demand at firm rates, ISlipes had good sales at the full May level. A fair selection of lamb's wool showed a decline of 5 per cent.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram , from thuir London house under date June 28 :—

Wool.—The sales closed firmly to-day. As compared with last sale's closing rates, prices are lower, about 5 per cent, for greasy medium Merino, Merino lambs and greasy and scoured Merino of inferior quality; about par to 5 per cent, for scoured medium Merino; about 5 per cent, to 7i per cent, for crossbred slipe; about 10 per cent, for fine greasy crossbred and scoured crossbred; about 10 per cent, to 15 per cent, for medium and coarse greasy crossbreds. For superfine Merino and greasy crossbred lambs there is no change in tho market. Average current liondon value of tho underaoted descriptions of New Zealand greasy wool. — Good Merino, 22d; medium, lctyd; inferior, 15d; fine crossbred. 16Jd: medium, B£d; coarse (40's), 6j|d; coarse (36's), 6id.
