TENNIS CHAMPIONS.
THE AMERICAN RANKING. TILDEN AT THE HEAD. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 31. Tho United States' Lawn Tennis Association has announced file national rankings. In the singles the first 10 are: K. T. Tilden, W. M. Johnston, V. F. Richards, W. F. Johnston, W. M. Washburn, R. N. Williams, J. Kumagae, H. L. Voshell, Rice, and Niles. The Ranking Committee decided to omit from the ranking, owing to insufficient data, the English jiml Australian Davis Cup teams. Tilden and Richards rank first, and Wiuihburn and Williams second in the doubles. ENGLISH TOURNAMENT. PLAYING THROUGH ROUNDS. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. {Reed. 6.6 P.W.) LONDON. Dec. 31. W. T. Tilden (America) and Max Woosfriam (England) have signified their willingness to play through in the English tennis championships instead of waiting for the challenge round. Mdlle. Lenglen (France) lias done similarly.
