NEW ZEALAND EXEMPTED. BIENNIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. Australian end NZ. Cable Association. IReod 7.5 p.m.) ADELAIDE, Jan. 1. A sub-committee appointed by the Australasian Athletic Conference reported that New Zealand should be exempted from further participation in the prescribed series of Australasian championships with a view to the substitution of biennial Australasian championships and biennial home and home contests between New Zealand and combined Australian teams. The committee also recommended that lelay races of half a mile, a quarter of a mile, and 220 yards be added to the programme. The committee's recommendations were adopted. It was also decided that the executive should take aciion and communicate with different sporting bodies with a view to holding Australasian .Olympic games.
