SUITS FOR THE MILLIONS.

It is refreshing in these days of high prices to know that there are high-class tradesmen whose motto is " Small Profits and Quick Returns," and in 'Mr. Baker Auckland has one such tradesman who makes a practice of giving the very best value in material and workmanship to all his patrons. Good service requires no recommendation and consequently experiento has shown that every suit turned out from this up-to-date establishment results in half a dozen new orders being rcceivod by the proprietor. " Where did you get that .suit?" was a question put to a fashionably-dressed young man by his friend tho other day, and the prompt reply was, "From G. H. Baker of course." "What did he sling you for it?" queried the friend, and on being told that tho suit only cost £6 ss, the latter almost collapsed. It was a fine English gray tweed, and for make and style it could not be beaten anywhere, and naturally the low price charged camo as something of a shock to tho " friend," who naturally bxpectod to hear that the figure was considerably more. Being something of a "Doubting Thomas" he visited Mr. Baker at the Queen's Buildings, and after an interview, he was convinced that the price was right, and having examined many rolls of high-class material and finishings he concluded the interview by ordering a suit at the same price. As he was leaving the premises he was informed by Mr. Baker that the reason he could secure a tailor-made suit on such favourablo terms was that the overhead charges incidental to the conduct of the business, being ' reasonable, patrons 'received the benefit. That is the secret of Mr. Baker's success- He does not pay a high rent for his rooms, and in addition every modern convenience has been installed *in his workroom with the result that his staff are in a position to carry out tho work allotted them (expeditiously and without any loss of time, and certainly with no inconvenience to customers.
