CAUTION IN TENDERING.
INCALCULABLE COSTS. ' A. and N.Z. LONDON, Oct. 9. The Admiralty is extending by a week the date of receiving final tenders for four battleships. Shipbuilders are anxious to secure the contracts, but owing to the fluctuating costs of labour and material, they find it difficult to submit tenders. They urge that the Admiralty should pay a percentage of profit on the ultimate cost of construction.
