DAVIS CUP CONTEST.

AUSTRALASIA BEATS CANADA. DOUBLES MATCH WON. A. and N.Z. TORONTO, July 26. After delay due to thunderstorms, the doubles match in the Davis Cup competition between Canada and Australasia was concluded Chis afternoon. Todd and Anderson (Australasia) defeated Holmes and Bennett (Canada), 6—2, 6—3, 6—l. The match was completed on a French day court. Todd and Anderson "frbm the first demonstrated that they were superior in* all departments of tennis. The Canadians never showed the form they exhibited in previous matches. The Australasians won the first two singles matches, and have thus wop the round. They will now meet the British Isles team. Two singles matches will be played to-morrow, but they -will be merely exhibitions.
