ALLEGATIONS RETRACTED.

Australian and *N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 27. Mrs. Mort, -writing to Mrs. Tozer, the mother of Dr. Tozer, from the State Reformatory in which she is incarcerated, says that since being there she has realised many things. One of them is the awful wrong she has done Dr. Tozer. She goes on to say that never once did Dr. Tozer take advantage of her. All the things of which he was accused are absolutely untrue. It is a continual horror to her to know that she left a different impression on the public mind. No one could have been more chivalrous. Mrs. Mort adds: "1 am writing to try to make some atonement for the wrong done the memory of a fine man."

On a charge of murdering Dr. Tozer on December 21, Mrs. Mort was found notguilty on account of insanity, and was .ordered to be removed to a penitentiary until the Governor's pleasure was known. Dr. Tozer was a well-knowm New South Wales cricketer.
