NEWMARKET FIRE BRIGADE.
The annual report of the Newmarket Volunteer Fire Brigade, submitted to tli« Newmarket Borough Council last evening, stated that there had been 72 musters of the brigade for the year—lß fixes, one inspection, 13 fceetiogs, and 40 practices. The attendances had .been averaging 11 men per muster. The fires had been of a rery slight nature, and the bri* gade liad promptly, checked all outbreaks* The plant had been ■well kept. A niuhber of residents "were desirous, of joining the brigade, and they weie able to select thsir members when reqntred lh moving the adoption of the report, the .Mayor, Mr. $~ Donaldson, said he thought the captain and the brigade generally -ares*-de-serving of great commendation;
