PRICES AT WESTFTELD.

LATE RATES MAINTAINED.

ALL CLASSES OF STOCK.

Prices for beef at the Westfield fat stock market yesterday were firm at last week's rates. There was a good yarding of cattle, and diere was a keen demand for the best grades. Extra choice ox brought £1 '16s per 1001b., choice and prime £1 10s to £1 15s, ordinary and plain £1 5s to £1 10s. Cow and heifer beef brought from 15s to £1 10s, the higher price l)eing realised for extra prime cows. There was a fair yarding of sheep, but many of them were not in prime condition-. The demand for all classes was good, and last week's rates were maintained. Wethers fetched from 16s to £1 7s, ewes 14s to £1 Is, lambs 15s to £1 ss^6d. There was a rather small yarding of pigs, and there was sustained demand for them at recent rates.- Choppers and bacon pigs fetched from £3 19s to £6 10s.
