DAVIS CUP CONTEST.
AUSTRALASIA V. CANADA. RAIN STOPS THE DOUBLES. A. and N.Z. TORONTO. July 25. Thunderstorms interrupted the third Davis Cup match, between Australasia and Canada, in which Anderson and Todd (Australasia) met Bennett and Holmes (Canada). Only two games in the first set had been played, each side winning one, when play was abandoned for the day. BRITISH ISLES TEAM. ARRIVAL IN AMERICA. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. The British Isles team for the Davis Cup contest arrived to-day, and proceeded to Pittsburg to prepare to meet the victors of the Canadian-Australasian lie on August 4, 5, and 6.
