FAILING TO PARADE.
DARGAVILLE BOYS FINED.
ADVICE FROM MAGISTRATE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DABGAVIULE. ThirredaT-
At the Magistrate's Court to-day, several youths were convicted and fined 10s for failing to attend parade. Their employers' business and football were used as excuses, but the magistrate was very firm in warning the boys that a future appearance would meet with stern punishment. No religious sect or other organisation would object to the benficial influence of the physical training, and it was incumbent upon every youth to recognise the claims of citizenship upon him. The magistrate specially appealed to two ex-college boys, as the country looked to the secondary schools for ideals and leadership.
