DEATH OF A FOOTBALLER.
[BX TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHEISTCHUBCH. Saturday. During the Christchurch-Sydenham senior Rugby match at the Show Grounds to-day, A. Aitkeri, a. Sydenham player, received a blow above the heart and died on the way to the hospital. Aitken played because of a shortage in the Sydenham team. During the first half someone cannoned into him. He was taken to the dressing-room and -became unconscious. He was a Canterbury representative in 1907-1908, and was a mariried man.
