RATE CLERK ARRESTED.
[BY. TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] v HASTINGS, Saturday. James Patrick Plinn, rate clerk for the Hastings Borough Council, was arrested this afternoon by Detective-Sergeant Butler and charged at the Magistrate's Court that on March 11 he did steal £34 12s 4d, the property of the council. He was v remanded for a week on bail of self £400, and two sureties of £200 each. It is understood that rates are missing to the f&ient, of nearly £400,
