DECLINE OF OUTPUT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. CReod. 1.30 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 2. The Mines Department announces that the prices of coal will be released from control on March 1, when instructions to collieries to supply specified districts will be also withdrawn.
The Daily Telegraph estimates that the output of the coalmint'3 in February will be a million tons a week lower than in December, which will lessen the miners' earnings to the extent of £1,250,000. This enormous reduction of the spending power of the miners will react on many trades.
